Guide to Estepona

Estepona, situated on the Costa del Sol, is a great place to consider for your Spanish home. With more than 320 days of sunshine a year, good weather is virtually guaranteed. The resort is a little quieter than some other resort towns in Malaga such as Marbella, the area has managed to maintain its character and charm. Estepona, fondly known as the New Golden Mile, has retained more traditionally Spanish areas and has many excellent tapas restaurants. The popular Old Town is a lovely.

Currently, in and around Estepona there is a variety of property available to suit most buyers requirements and budgets. With many places to visit in and around the beautiful Spanish town, come and take in the beautiful flowers that are displayed in the streets.

Popular property choices are apartments within close proximity of the coast and with access to a communal pool and gardens, these types of apartments start from just £120,00. Alternatively, you could look to escape to the valleys and find a new build villa or townhouse within a gated complex. These types of properties are slightly more expensive and prices start from around £220,000. There are also a number of spectacular new developments being built in the area if your budget stretches a little further. These projects focus on your needs and offer a high quality choice of bespoke interior finishes. There are many things to see and do in Estepona. Firstly, there are the beaches, including two Blue Flag beaches. The small cove of Playa Del Cristo to the West of the town, and the long sandy La Rada Beach to the East of Estepona marina, both boast beautiful sand and sea to help you to relax.

In addition to sunbathing, you can also take the family on day trips to attractions such as Selwo Safari Park, with over 2,000 animals who live in semi-wild conditions. Keen shoppers will love the El Corte Inglés department store at Puerto Banús. This is approximately a 25 minute drive from Estepona and offers a large number of designer outlets, including Armani and Versace. There’s certainly something for every taste in the area, and there’s much more to the Costa del Sol than many people realise.

For golf lovers, there are many developments either situated on or near to the award-winning courses which allow you to be only a short walk from the first tee. There are at least 5 gold courses in the area. There are also exclusive club resorts that offer the residential community with additional benefits such as gyms, indoor pools and a local bar as well as access to the golf course!

For the adventurous folk, there are great hikes and cycle routes in stunning mountains and valleys that surround Estepona.
